Handling Occasional Out-of-Range Data Values
Occasionally, Blake devices may report unusual temperature values, such as:
-
Extremely low readings (e.g., -275°C)
-
Rare out-of-range readings (e.g., 7°C)
These occurrences are temporary, isolated anomalies and do not reflect actual environmental conditions.
Cause
Out-of-range readings can be triggered by:
-
Temporary sensor glitches
-
Brief communication errors between the device and cloud
-
Environmental or electrical interference affecting the sensor
Important: These anomalies are rare and do not indicate a malfunction of the device.
Impact
-
Only individual data points are affected
-
Device self-corrects automatically after the anomaly
-
The overall reliability and accuracy of device data remain intact
Future Improvements
-
Blake is developing a cloud-level update that will automatically detect and skip temporary incorrect readings
-
Once implemented, such rare anomalies will no longer appear in the customer data
